Mobile Urban Sensing Technologies (MUST) is a sensing kit developed at Princeton University to collect high spatio-temporal resolution urban air quality data. Air quality data are generally collected through fixed urban weather stations, which generally offer a low spatial resolution coverage. This project proposes to use mobile sensing as a methodology to acquire data at higher spatial resolutions. The proposed methodology enables the acquisition of air quality gradients for different contaminant concentrations across the city, enabling a better understanding of the air quality dynamics to inform local environmental urban planning strategies. MUST Air quality sensing kits have been installed in the public transportation in the city of Seoul and in private vehicles in the city of New York.
